Andrea Verdina
Having ridden since age 9, Andrea grew up in a
livery/training/competition yard. He had his first 'federal' horse when he was 16 and competed at the European Junior Championship in Waldorf, Germany in 1986, age 17 and finished 15th.
The following years 1987 European Championship in Rome, Andrea was placed together with William Fox Pitt, Pippa Funnell, and Polly Williamson.
1988 - Won Italian Championships. Took part European Champ YR in Belgium
1989 - European Champs YR Acshelswang, placed
1990 - European Champ YR Rotterlfield Park, placed
1989 - was picked from the Italian Federation to be one of their riders (only 4 in the all Italy) and moved to Rome competing for the Italian Federation.
1992 - Qualified as instructor. (equal to BHSI in UK)
1993 - Became established in business,
located in north of Italy.
1996 - Rode professionally for Cabalva Stud in UK (same place where Leslie Law and Chris King started).
1997 - Expanded business to relocate in Winchester. Came 2nd at Windsor CCI** with a horse previously ridden by Mark Todd. Acquired and brought on 'Parkmore ED' who William Fox Pitt later successfully competed at Burghley (1st Place 2007) and took to the Beijing Olympics.
1999 - European Senior at Lumhulhen, placed 12th
2000 - Sydney Olympics, placed 15th
2001 - European Senior at Pau, placed 3rd team
2002 - Short listed for World Games

Didi Verdina
Competing since the age of 8, Didi has always rubbed shoulders with the eventing elite. Training and working with the best, Didi participated in top level competition but also started to find considerable success through producing her own horses.
1997 -
Quickly recognised for her excellent communications skill and natural understanding for both horse and rider, Didi became a fully qualified instructor and started teaching in one of the biggest and most prestigious show jumping yards in the north of Italy.
1999 - Continuing as a top competitor she set up her own yard and started breeding and producing young show jumpers, as well as importing horses from Germany to produce and sell.
2001 - She then moved to UK to join Andrea's team in the development of Verdina Sport Horses and the provision of some of the best sport horses available today. Didi now manages a professional and busy yard as well as competing. |
